Intention vs. Resolution
Resolution -
The state or quality of being resolute; firm determination.
Intention –
1. med a natural healing process, as by first intention , in which the edges of a wound cling together with no tissue between, or by second intention , in which the wound edges adhere with granulation tissue.
2. the end or object intended, purpose.
I have been thinking a lot about New Year’s Resolutions and have decided that for the purpose of moving forward, resolution isn’t a very good word to use. I have chosen to use the word intention instead and find that my heart stays more open when I speak that word. I am intending in this new year of 2012 to complete any projects that I have left unfinished and I suspect it will take the better part of the year to accomplish this. With each unfinished item I have allowed cobwebs to grow in my mind and also in the basement and have started to resemble those people I said I would never be, clutterbugs. Clutter is a dangerous thing. It creeps and creeps into a life until one day it becomes illness and then it takes a lot of energy to declutter. That is, if, you can declutter at all. In 2012 I will purge, sale, organize and bestow any items, beit thoughts or otherwise, that I no longer need, want or use. Once that intention has occurred I suspect I will have healed a great deal.
